HALLS TYRE Service is gearing up for another big Charity Day Show ‘n’ Shine at their 1 Mayfield Street, Murwillumbah, site on Sunday, March 8.

The Show ‘n’ Shine has become a popular drawcard amongst Tweed locals and visitors with some standout models on display in 2019 and more expected this year.

Halls Tyre Service owner Sue Hall told The Weekly the team were thrilled to host another family event featuring some of the finest cars across the Northern Rivers and South East Qld.

“After the big turnout last year, we’re really excited to host the event again,” Sue said.

“We are expecting another big turnout and we’re also going to have plenty of other activities including the market stalls, kids face painting, a jumping castle, more food stalls and raffles.”

The event raises vital funds for Tweed Palliative Care Wedgetail Retreat, which receives no government funding and relies on events like this.

Among the glistening beauties this year is a 1954 former White House Cadillac, which is sure to turn heads with its presidential style.

Automotive enthusiast and Southern Cross Credit Union Murwillumbah Manager Drew Hutchinson purchased the ’54 Cadi six months ago and was enjoying every minute.

“I bought it off a Newcastle car museum known as Lost in the 50s Museum,” he said.

The car was an official US Government vehicle during Dwight Eisenhower’s time as president between 1953 to 1961.

“It’s all original,” Mr Hutchinson said.

“The interior and exterior are both in perfect condition, it’s a part of the reason I purchased it sight unseen.

“I’d really like to encourage residents to come along to the Halls Tyre Show ‘n’ Shine, it’s a great event with plenty of amazing vehicles and fun for the whole family.”
