Change your life at The Stables

LOCAL AUTHOR and breathwork coach Gavin McGahey is giving a six-week somatic breathwork workshop starting Tuesday, February 13.

This interesting journey of self-discovery is held with Stacey Pamment at The Stables, a new venue out on Cane Road, Tygalgah. Once home to racehorses, The Stables is a big, spacious airy place, perfect for events and workshops.

The program held each Tuesday evening is designed to help people navigate life’s challenges, foster healing and self-improvement.

Breathwork uses different breathing techniques to change your state of being. It often includes a series of controlled breaths and staged breath-holds, all designed to tap into your body’s healing potential.

“Breathwork changed my life,” Gavin told The Weekly. “It helped me move through depression and anxiety – it provided me with clarity and clearness.

“My journey wasn’t easy. Facing a painful marriage breakdown and personal turmoil, I found solace and strength in the practices I now teach.

“Through each breath, we aim to unlock the doors to healing and transformation within each of us, fostering a stronger connection between the heart and mind.”

Each week, you will go on unique breathwork journeys, including Letting Go, Transcending Fear, Healing Ancestral Trauma, and others. These sessions are designed to help you find a new sense of purpose, heal trauma, or continue your path of inner work.

This reporter did some breathwork sessions years ago, and it changed her life. She changed her friends, her suburb and her career. She went from painting backdrops for films to writing for newspapers and magazines. It can have a profound effect.

It all sounds a bit vague until you actually do it. You will be welcomed by Gavin and Stacey and relax in a large, open airy space, with music and incense. After setting an intention, you will lie on a yoga mat and do guided breathwork with individual headphones. The process will end with reflection, sharing and a closing ceremony.

The rural setting and the view of Mt Warning/Wollumbin add to the magic of the experience.

The series welcomes people from all walks of life, whether seeking to heal trauma, find a new sense of purpose, or simply deepen their journey of self-improvement and inner work.

The six-week somatic breathwork series begins at 7pm on Tuesday February 13 at The Stables, 243 Cane Rd, Tygalgah. For more info go to events.humanitix.com/heart-mind-connection-somatic-breathwork-series-at-the-stables
