THE MURWILLUMBAH Truck Centre will host a special family fun open day to unveil the new generation of Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks on Saturday, November 12.
Known for their comfort, safety and driving dynamics, the new generation Actros has been in service across Europe for many years and is an exciting new addition to the Australian market.
Truck Centre service manager Adam Bedser said he would like to invite local truck owners, drivers and auto enthusiasts to the Murwillumbah dealerships open day at 36 Durrington Street.
“The new Actros has been in service in Europe for a number of years and has won International Truck of the Year in 2012,” he said.
“It has set the international records for fuel economy and evaluation vehicles, operating in Australia now for over 12 months, have a combined total of one million test kilometres.”
Mr Bedser said key aspects of the new Actros included innovations in driver and passenger comfort, safety, drive ability, fuel economy and low exhaust emissions.
“There’s also a diverse model range to meet the needs of any application,” he said.
“The all new inline 6 cylinder 16 litre OM473 engine produces 1844 ib/foot of torque at a little more than 800rpm.
“With new innovation in fuel injection system for maximise power delivery and fuel mileage.”
But that’s not all, Murwillumbah Truck Centre will also present the Unimog U5023 and a Zetros 4×4.
“These vehicles are not normally seen on our roads but rather in a forestry, rail, mining and expiration, emergency and disaster relief, agriculture, municipal and defence force applications,” he said.
“These unique vehicles have a wide range of capabilities for the Energy/Municipal sector. The Unimog U216-U530 vehicles are specialised implement carriers and transportation vehicles, they offer front and rear PTO and high-powered hydraulic systems.
“The U5023 has good ground clearance and high payload capacity.
“The Zetros is available in 4×4 and 6×6 configurations and give excellent off-road capacities and on-road compatibilities comparable with truck performance.
“Zetros completes hard to reach off road tasks quickly, reliably and economically.”
Mr Bedser said the open day would include something for everyone, giveaways, Lego Technic Mercedes-benz truck lucky door prize value of $330, Vintage Mercedes Benz truck Display, Mercedes-Benz Club of QLD vehicle display.
“Mercedes-Benz Unimog and Zetros off road demonstrations, fundraising sausage sizzle by the Murwillumbah Colts football team, cold drinks, tea and coffee.
“We will have a large range of all Daimler truck brands on display.”
