IGA TWEED Valley store manager Mark Pettit was recently named the best IGA store manager in Northern NSW and Queensland during the prestigious Rising Star awards.

Mark was selected from a field of more than 330 candidates at a recent gala ceremony in Brisbane.

The award was one of seven nominations for the Tweed Valley store which was also in the running for IGA store of the year, best meat department, best produce department, best bakery department, best grocery department and best chiller/freezer department.

IGA Tweed Valley owners Brett and Leanne Bugg heaped praise on Mark for his skills as a manager.

“Mark’s work in the community was highlighted while receiving the award, in particular his efforts after last year’s floods, where he led the store in giving time, money and goods to those that needed it most during the crisis,” Brett said.

Mark will now represent Queensland and Northern NSW as a finalist at the national awards ceremony.

He will be one of six vying for the title as the best store manager in Australia out of a total of nearly 1,400 stores nationwide.
