Murwillumbah Garden Club will host a coach tour on Sunday, September 10 around prizewinning gardens in the 40th annual garden competition. The coach will leave Knox Park at 8.30am and morning tea is included in the cost of $30. The tour includes a visit to Kingscliff Nursery and lunch at your own expense at Kingscliff Bowls Club. The Gold Coast South – Twin Towns Branch of the National Servicemen’s Association of Australia. Serving from Tallebudgera to The Tweed will hold its next General Meeting on Sunday, September 17 at 10am in the RSL Sub Branch Anzac Room of the Twin Towns Resort. The Tweed Hospital Auxiliary will be holding its Annual Fete on Saturday, October 14 in the Auditorium of the Tweed Civic Centre, Cnr Wharfe & Brett Streets, Tweed Heads. There will be a major raffle draw on the day. Sale of Raffle tickets will commence on Monday, September 4 and the tickets will be on sale at various venues around the Tweed. Watch out for the sellers as great prizes can be won. All proceeds go to the Tweed Hospital Auxiliary to purchase necessary equipment for the Tweed Hospital.

Uki branch of Red Cross held their Annual General meeting at Mount Warning Hotel on August 8. The election of officers was discussed and voted on as follows; President – Pauline Carroll, Vice President – Joy Armour, Secretary-Treasurer – Val Bell, Publicity Officer – Julie Hitchens. It was also decided to continue with planning towards the Annual Christmas fundraising day in December. We ask you now, to start your own planning cake making, embroidery, crocheting, jam making, etc.
