SEVERAL TWEED businesses are taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave for a Cure today including the very brave owner of The Sugar Beat Jessica Harvey and owner of Bio-logical David Hancox.

The Sugar Beat hosted the shave off and hair colour makeovers at 6-8 Commercial Road, Murwillumbah this morning. Sanitair staff in Tweed Heads are also expected to warm up the clippers in the afternoon.

The Sugar Beat owner Matthew Barter also took the leap and lopped the top, alongside Madura Tea employee Gary Bennett, who was on his lunch break and Murwillumbah local Chad Westbury, who was walking the dog and having breakfast.

Jess’s mother and sister also took part by colouring their hair blue and red.

Jess and Dave attracted a range of others to brave the clippers for a good cause which is to continue research into Leukaemia Foundation and awareness for blood cancer.

The Sugar Beat managed to raise more than $1200 with more expected.
