THE TWEED Shire’s most recently established business chamber, Tweed Coast Beaches Business Collective (TCB), is gearing up for another busy year of promoting coastal businesses and growing its membership base.

Launched in mid-2019, TCB has already gained 60 local business members with a busy year ahead for the fledgling business chamber.

TCB Business Collective will meet for the first time in 2020 at the Cabarita Beach Surf Life Saving Club on Tuesday, February 11, from 6pm.

The meeting will be attended by Kym Kranen representing Tweed Shire Council and Brad Nardi, representing Tweed Tourism Co, who will present an economic and tourism overview for the coming year and discuss the potential effects on local TCB businesses.

TCB president Simone Millar said TCB was eager to get started.

“We’re really excited to be back for our first meeting and if you’re in business on the Tweed Coast then please contact us and get your networking started,” she said.

Cabarita Beach Barber owner and TCB membership manager, Rob Irving, said it’s been amazing how quickly TCB has evolved and taken shape.

“It’s a great group of local business people,” he said.

“I’d really like to encourage other local business owners and operators to get in touch and start networking.”

TCB vice president Meagan Kruger said TCB was eager to welcome current and future members to the vibrant team.

“Benefits range from networking, business support and topical speakers presenting on issues relevant to our business community,” she said.

“Also, we have just distributed a short survey to our members, in that, we’re asking members for feedback on what they see as the top three issues affecting their business and feedback/suggestions on topics for meetings for the rest of the year.”

Mrs Kruger said TCB is a membership-based organisation and strives to deliver the best results to members.

“As a board, one of our jobs is to ensure we are delivering current, relevant and engaging content to our members,” she said.

“This in turn will help us to deliver on our purpose, vision and mission.”

Miss Millar said the mission statement for TCB, which also stands for Taking Care of Business, is to empower Tweed Coast Beaches businesses on their growth journey through delivering on our core values of knowledge sharing, connection and collaboration, sustainable growth, supporting locals and advocating for business.”
