JOIN US this Friday (May 28) from 5.45pm for an intimate yet extraordinary event that has music, sculpture, light and performance, and an exciting display of art as we celebrate the launch of the 2021 Murwillumbah Arts Trail at the historic Murwillumbah Showground.
You can purchase the paintings on the night, meet the artists, and enjoy a cocktail from Ink Gin and Flammkuchen German Pizza.
Over the weekend, venture out on a driving trail of discovery through the region visiting many hidden gems such as Quilla Design Emporium in Mooball, Farrants Hill Collective’s open gardens and the Fernvale Community Hall filled with sculptures by the Murwillumbah Potters.
Venturing further into the Tweed Valley to Stokers Siding will bring you to Scott McDougall, Amelia Axford and the Community Printmakers, and don’t miss a visit to Marie France and Christine Mellor’s private studios nestled in the hills behind the village of Uki, where several artists will be exhibiting in the historic church in the middle of the village.
After a visit to Mavis’s Kitchen nestled at the base of the majestic Wollumbin-Mt Warning for lunch where another eight artists are exhibiting, head back to town to visit Hiske Tas Bain’s studio filled with surrealist art and the group exhibition of ‘Buildings, Busts and Bowls’ in Nullum Street.
Saturday night will see Murwillumbah come alive with art when Johnny Francos hosts a mixed media exhibition of original works by MindiGirl, followed by Art After Dark at the M|Arts Precinct and the much anticipated opening of the Pink Bar, and a party in the laneway, so there is no excuse not to come down and help celebrate the arts with us.
