Speeding and drink driving motorists keep police busy

A 31-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with high range drink driving, Skye’s Law and driving without a licence after a pursuit on Tweed Coast Road, Cudgen over the weekend.

The man’s vehicle had earlier been the subject of a number of burn out offences in the Casuarina area.

He was granted bail and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on November 14, 2016.

 

ANOTHER MAN was charged on the weekend for speeding over 200km/h on the M1 at Cudgera Creek.

The man was stopped by Byron Bay Highway Patrol for speeding at 213km/h.

His licence was immediately suspended and he was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for the offences of Speed Dangerous and Exceed Speed Limit over 45 km/h.

He is to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on the November 14 2016.

 

A 33-YEAR-OLD has also been arrested and charged with four outstanding warrants after a vehicle he was a passenger in was stopped on the M1 at Sextons Hill.

He will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on the October 17 2016.
