SEAGULLS CLUB at Tweed Heads has recently launched The Giving Tree initiative in support of The Family Centre at Tweed Heads.
After an overwhelming response from Seagulls members and the community last Christmas, Seagulls is once again donating more than 120 gifts to children who would otherwise miss out on Christmas.
A further $1,500 in gift cards and tech items were also gifted thanks to generous donations.
“This year we are determined to make it even bigger and better than last year,” Seagulls Marketing Assistant Aroha Wezner said.
“Once again we will kick off the campaign with the first $1,000 towards The Giving Tree.
“All you have to do is donate a gift up to $20 in value, suitable from infant to 16 years old.
“Toys, books and gift cards are all great ideas.”
Residents can simply drop them at reception for them to be placed under the tree and you will receive a voucher for five raffle tickets in the popular Seagulls Christmas Ham Raffles.
For every donation you make, Seagulls will add $5 to the gift fund.
The Family Centre services families in the Tweed Coast and Northern Rivers district, providing support, relationship education and homelessness services for children, young people and families.
Donations will be accepted until Friday, December 14, so The Family Centre elves have plenty of time to wrap and distribute gifts to families in need.
“As always we thank you for your community spirit at this time of year, and your generous donations,” Aroha said.
“We wish you and your family a very happy and safe holiday season and look forward to seeing you at seagulls.”
