THE 27TH ANNUAL Murwillumbah Rotary Art Show has been hailed a huge success by artists and the community with the final judging taking place at Jessie McMillan Hall on Tuesday, August 22.
More than 70 people attended the judging with the opening address provided by Tweed Shire Councillors Pryce Allsop.
Cr Allsop, who is somewhat of an artist himself, praised all the local artists who contributed to the Rotary Art Show.
Students from local schools were once again a focus at the exhibition with entries from Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, St Joseph’s College Banora Point, Wollumbin High School, Mount St Patrick College and Tweed Valley Adventist College.
The art show included two judges Jeff Gant and Rob Olver.
Rotary Art Show convener Douglas Jardine said the community art show provides a venue for all local artists to exhibit their works and even sell a few.
“It was an amazing exhibition of artworks this year and I would like to encourage everyone to get down to Jessie McMillan Hall to check it out,” he said.
The exhibition will close at the hall on Saturday, August 26, at 12noon.
Anyone wanting to find out more or to purchase artworks can contact Mr Jardine on (02) 6672 5554.
