THE Rock ānā Recovery Sunday Session is coming to the Condong Bowls Club on Sunday, May 21, and it promises to be a great day out for the whole family.
Developed over a beer between a bunch of local bands wanting to do something to help in some way following the devastating impact of the Tweed flood.
With the Tweed Mayorās Flood Appeal already in place to provide residents and businesses with financial assistance, proceeds from the event will go toward this.
āSo many of our community are still in limbo and dealing with red tape at the moment and the Mayorās Flood Appeal is trying to make it easy to access some financial support. So what better cause to donate to,ā a spokesperson from the event said.
āRock ānā Recovery is entry by donation so if you have been affected, hereās an affordable great day out for you and the family and if you are someone wanting to help you can pay a bit more for entry as know itās going to a great cause.ā
The aim of the event is to raise as many funds as possible but itās just as important to get our community together for a fun day.
Six local bands plus special guests are donating their time and it promises to be an exciting line up of live rock and roll with Kings of the Sun, Living in the 70s, Round Mountain Girls, JB & the Safewords, Here Be Monsters and the Meerdogs.
This a great chance to hear some live local music where you can bring the kids along too. Thereās a jumping castle, SIBA inflatable soccer pitch and face painting to keep them busy.
Some excellent raffle prizes have been donated and the prize pool is still growing. To date thereās a fishing charter tour and fishing gear packs from Phippsyās Smooth Water Charters, accommodation packages, a Fender mandolin, a seafood cooking class and dinner from a renowned chef plus more still to be announced.
The day is being MCād by Channel 9 fishing guru Andy āPhippsyā Phipps who will also perform with his duo āDnAā.
And on top of the great entertainment, kidsā stuff and monster raffle prizes Condong Bowling Club will be providing a lunch and dinner menu at memberās prices
For those wanting a snack, Lions Club Murwillumbah have also come on board with a sausage sizzle.
So, thereās a bunch of reasons to get yourself along to the Condong Bowling Club this Sunday from 1pm to 9pm.
