TWEED POLICE and Emergency Service crews were hiking to the top of Mt Warning this morning in order to aid a stricken climber at the top.
The hiker is believed to be in a stable condition, but had required assistance to descend.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was believed to have been called to the mountain top to assist.
Meanwhile, a car has slid down an embankment along the Tweed River and narrowly avoided entering the river.
The accident follows two previous vehicles plunging into the Tweed River, in an unrelated but frequent occurrence.
There’s only a small amount of detail on this accident, however no one was believe to be seriously injured although a man was taken to Tweed Hospital.
We will update you as soon as more information comes to hand.
