LOCAL MUSICIAN Matty Rogers has been named to join dozens of high profile artists to perform at the up-coming Falls Festival after the Foster a Band competition concluded today.
Falls Festival organisers launched the Foster a Band campaign in conjunction with local newspapers in order to give a local musician the chance to perform at one of the biggest music festivals in Australia.
The Weekly nominated Matty for the opportunity after his hard work creating and performing his original music locally and throughout Australia for the past 12 years.
“This is such amazing news,” he told The Weekly Editor Jonathon Howard who broke the news at 7am this morning.
“I can’t believe this I don’t know what to say – thank you so much to the Falls Festival organisers and The Weekly for this amazing opportunity.
“I’ve been working on a set for Falls just in case I won, now I’m really going to work on it.”
Matty’s unique blend of blues, folk and rock has seen him perform alongside some of the best in the business.
