TWEED Police arrested a 36-year-old man at Ducat Street, Tweed Heads on Friday, September 23, at 11.10pm, after the man was found carrying a large knife and drugs.
A resident of Ducat Street discovered the man rummaging through property in his carport.
The resident contacted Tweed Heads Police, who arrived a short time later. Police found the man on the property, and placed him under arrest. The man, who appeared drug affected, was searched.
Police found that the man had a large knife concealed in his pants. A further search found a small amount of cannabis in his clothing, and a drug smoking implement.
The man was placed under arrest and taken back to Tweed Heads Police Station. He was charged with possession of the knife, drugs, and drug implements. The man was refused bail, and will appear at Tweed Heads Local on Monday 26 September.
