ICONIC LOCAL business Links Pizza has a new team and fresh vision that will tantalise the tastebuds of Tweed locals with a delicious new crust.

Links owner Gunter Ehmann has a passion for connecting residents with great food and has been working wonders with his own mobile pizza business.

Gunter purchased Links Pizza two years ago and he’s been breathing new life into the Golden Links Drive site.
Gunter will also relaunch the long-awaited Links delivery service across the Tweed Valley on Fridays and Saturdays, which is available from August 13.

Gunter has employed around ten new local staff with head chef Bennie Cook and manager Steve Hansell, who are both eager to serve up delicious food with a smile.

“It’s great to have such a motivated team of locals behind me in this great business,” Gunter said.

“We’ve also increased our output capacity which means we can produce more pizzas on demand, and locals will not be disappointed.”

Gunter is already well known amongst the Stokers Siding and Byron Bay communities for his amazing food truck services known as Gunter’s Flammkuchen.

While continuing his food truck and the Cube business in Byron Bay, Gunter said he is now pouring his heart and soul into Links.

“I had heard that Links has a great reputation in the Tweed Valley,” he said.

“I’m looking to compliment that, with a great new crust known in Germany as Flammkuchen.”

Flammkuchen is a delicious pastry-style pizza base that’s not too thick and not too thin.

“It’s considered the base of choice in Germany, and it’s been very well received via the Flammkuchen food truck in the Tweed,” he said.

“The chef is also a huge fan, so we decided to incorporate it into our Links Pizza range.”

All your favourite toppings are available with some special new menu options, including the lamb pizza which is delicious.

Gunter has been living in the Tweed Shire for the past seven years and loves the lifestyle and people.

“It’s such an amazing place to live and raise a family, and I’m eager to service the community with great pizza,” he said.

Gunter’s background was as a mechanical engineer on mine sites and he had always wanted to bring his favourite pizza base from Germany to Australia.

“I really love the positive environment here and I wanted to serve up great food,” he said.

“I’m also really keen to support local clubs and fellow businesses including our neighbours.”

Links Pizza has recently launched a sponsorship with the under 18s Murwillumbah Football Club and has plans to team up with neighbouring businesses for events.
