THE BENEFITS of employing locals through locally-based employment agencies cannot be overstated and can help build a small business, according to Mako Installations owner and director Joe Hackenberg.

Mr Hackenberg recently caught up with The Weekly to share his experience with new employees, who he said are now helping expand his business.

“It can be a struggle to manage growth in a small business, but I found by using the employment agencies I was able to ensure I have locals who are committed to their area,” he said.

“Both the new employees have had some construction industry experience that we can build on for their future.”
