Drugs and stolen goods found in car at Chinderah

TWEED POLICE charged a 36-year-old Reserve Creek man with multiple drug and alleged stolen property found in a car at Chinderah Bay Drive on Saturday, May 13.

Police said it was about 11.30am when they spotted a silver Ford Fiesta with drugs on the passenger seat and later uncovered allegedly stolen property in the car.

Police said the man “also appeared to be effected by a drug”.

The man and the vehicle were subsequently searched by police and during the search a small quantity of methyl amphetamine, a small quantity of cannabis and a small quantity of ecstacy were found.

“Also located in the vehicle were a number of items believed to have been stolen from Surfers Paradise,” police said.

“As the result of the search a 36-year-old male from Reserve Creek was charged with three counts of Possessing a Prohibited Drug, Receiving Property Stolen outside the State and Goods In Custody Suspected of being stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained.”

The man will appear at the Tweed Heads Local Court on May 22.
