BANORA POINT

The Annual Guiding Luncheon will be held at Banora Point on Wednesday 19 October 2016 at 11.00 am.  (NSW time) All persons who have been associated  with guiding either past or present , local or interstate are invited to come along and enjoy a great day.  Parents of girls in the movement are most welcome.  For enquiries or RSVP to Anne 07 5524 1454 by 15 October 2016.

Banora Point Community Baptist Church. 19-21 Corporation Circuit Tweed Heads South. Special event – Sunday 16th October 2016. Dr Bob Chapman, Academic Dean Phd, D.min Ma, Ba. Dr Chapman will be leading the Morning Service at 9.30 am aqnd conducting an open seminar at 7.00 pm. “The Natural Way to be – A Soul Winning Church”. Club Banora Garden Club meet at 9.45am on the first Tuesday of every month in the Tuscany Room at Club Banora, Leisure Drive, Banora Point. Each meeting features a guest speaker garden displays, ‘’Lucky Door’’ prize raffles, morning tea and lots of social activities. BILAMBIL

Bilambil Summer dance series first dance will be held on Saturday the 8th October at the Bilambil Hall Dancing to Trilogy band. Dancing begining at 8pm. Supper and door prizes. All welcome for a family night.

KINGSCLIFF

Friends of the Library Kingscliff invite you to come to the library in Turnock St, Kingscliiff and snap up some bargains every Saturday Morning between 9:15-11:45am. Murwillumbah Meals on Wheels AGM will be held on October 10 at the Meals on Wheels Office 2 Golden Links Drive Murwillumbah 5.30pm. All welcome.

The Murwillumbah Leukaemia and Cancer Research Society will hold a special meeting on October 7 at 10.30am at the Murwillumbah Services Club. The purpose of this is to decide on the future of the society?

Cotton Undies Drive between now and International ‘Day of the Girl’ Days for Girls Community Day,  8th October 2016 at the Jessie McMillan Hall, Wollumbin Street, Murwillumbah. Starts at 9.00am – Everyone is welcome. We desperately need cotton undies for our Days for Girls kits. This means we need more than a thousand pairs of knickers every year. Our greatest need is is sizes 8-14 for the younger girls who are at school and in need of our DFG kits to help keep them at school and gaining an education. Murwillumbah on the Move walking group for the Heart Foundation meets at Knox Park at 6.55am each Wednesday and Saturday for an hour long walk around the town area. The Murwillumbah Cancer Support Group meets from 10am to12 midday on the second Monday of every month at the Community Health Centre on the corner of Nullum and Wollumbin streets. These informal meetings offer mutual, practical and emotional support. The speaker at our 10th October meeting will be a local exercise physiologist. Pottsville Beach Neighbourhood Centre (PBNC) is again offering free Tax Help. Until the end of October, the centre’s qualified volunteer, Garry, will assist people to complete their tax returns. If your tax affairs are simple and you earn $50,000 pa or less, you could be eligible for this assistance. TUMBULGUM
Full Moon Walk. Sunday 16 October view the full moon on the Tweed River at Tumbulgum. Meet at 7.30pm (DST) at Tumbulgum boat ramp for a flat walk taking approx 60 minutes following the Tumbulgum Heritage Trail. TWEED HEADS

U3A Twin Towns Inc. presents a free concert by our wonderful members performing at the Scout Hall in Coolangatta, opposite the Bowling Club, on 21St October, the doors open at 10am.(Queensland time). Concert begins at 10.30. (Qld).The U3A ukulele players will be performing at the concert to entertain you. All welcome to attend the free concert and  enjoy the free morning tea. No booking needed.

Twin Towns Evening View Club’s next Dinner meeting is on Wednesday evening 12th October.Ladies of all ages are most welcome to come and Join. Held in the Blue Room of the Tweed Heads Blue Room 6.30pm for 7pm. Our Club supports the Smith Family’s “Learning for Life” program helping disadvantaged Australian children in their education to make sure they reach their full potential. Indoor Lawn Bowls. Looking for some additional players for our  ‘Social Indoor Lawn Bowls Group’ playing on Thursday nights at Tweed Heads Bowls Club on their indoor bowling green from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. A.O.O.B’s Twin Towns Branch. The next monthly meeting will be held in the Secret Garden Room, at the South Tweed Sports Club, Tweed Heads South on Friday 7th October at 2-00pm, NSW time. The Tweed Hospital Auxiliary will be holding its Annual Fete at the Tweed Heads Civic Centre on Friday 14 October from 10.00am to 2.00pm and Saturday 15 October from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm. There will be lots of stalls including books, cakes, Christmas stall, jewellery, pre-loved clothing, trash & treasure, remnants, plants, crafts, soft toys and baby wear. There will be the popular Chocolate Wheel and light refreshments.  Why not come along for a fun day and pick up a bargain.  This is the Auxiliary’s major fundraiser so please support your local hospital.
