THE STATE Government has extended the Category C grant funding to include additional communities including Tumbulgum, Billinudgel, Burringbar and more with grants of $10,000 available to small businesses.
Member for Tweed Geoff Provest said he welcomed today’s announcement that recovery grants have been extended to additional communities affected by the North Coast floods.
Mr Provest said that he had been working with State and Federal colleagues to
ensure that local flood-affected primary producers, small businesses and non-profit
organisations were able to access recovery assistance.
In addition to the grants already announced for small businesses and non-profit organisations in Murwillumbah, recovery grants of up to $10,000 are now
available for small businesses in Tumbulgum, Billinudgel and Burringbar.
The additional support also includes surrounding buffer zones: Dulguigan, Mullumbimby, Ocean Shores, The Pocket, Crabbes Creek, Upper Burringbar, Mooball and Stoker’s Siding.
“This assistance will provide a much needed boost to so many in our local community who have been doing it tough,” Mr Provest.
“I know this funding injection will make a real difference to those who are trying to recover and rebuild from the floods that followed tropical Cyclone Debbie.
“I thank the local community, including for working with the NSW Nationals and Liberals Government to gather the information we need to activate this support.”
To apply for a recovery grant, flood affected primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations should contact the NSW Rural Assistance Authority on 1800 678 593 or visit www.raa.nsw.gov.au.
