THE BUSINESS Excellence Awards Tweed Shire (BEATS) Awards will return to Murwillumbah on Saturday, August 6, at The Regent and M|Arts complex.
BEATS returns after it was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the committee is planning a big comeback this year to acknowledge local businesses.
Murwillumbah District Business Chamber president Nick Moran told The Weekly the return of BEATS is a crucial part of recognising and celebrating businesses after a tough 18 months.
“BEATS Awards is a night to relax and reflect, as well as networking with other businesses, on what they have achieved across the Tweed Shire in the past,” he said.
“The Business Chamber, as well as BEATS, is a great way for business owners and operators to meet in an enjoyable setting and some really great connections have been made at the events.”
Mr Moran said the next crucial step for businesses was to get their nominations in for a chance to be awarded a coveted BEATS title.
“There are workshops also being run to help businesses to enter and to write their entries,” he said.
“The next important workshop is taking place on Wednesday, June 16, in Lismore, or via a Zoom (2.30pm-4.30pm) meeting online, for more information please RSVP: rebecca.watling@businessnsw.com”
Mr Moran said he wanted to encourage business owners and operators to get their entries organised.
“BEATS Awards have changed businesses for the better overnight, through networking and recognition,” he said.
“They give businesses confidence and acknowledgement, and in writing the submission, you are given the chance to reflect on your business and its achievements.
“There’s a category for all business shapes and sizes, and the Chamber would like to encourage business to get involved as soon as possible.”
Sponsorship packages are currently available with three businesses already signed up including the Tweed Valley IGA, The Regent and Tweed Valley Weekly.
