ORGANISERS OF the Murwillumbah Arts Trail 2018 (MAT18) are now seeking sponsors from conglomerates to small family businesses to support a vibrant event.
Now in its fourth year, MAT18 is maturing into a creative feast where from May 18 to 28 2018, Murwillumbah will become the gallery for art, music, food, performance, workshops, master classes, sculpture and street celebration.
Reflecting the humour and resilience of the community, the trail’s theme, Moving On, celebrates the art and culture of a small town with a big heart.
The ambitious event is designed to put the area on the cultural tourism map. By featuring over 90 artists across multiple venues and events, the MAT18 organisers are aiming to attract up to 5000 visitors to celebrate art and community.
Ironically although the theme is Moving On, organisers are keen for visitors to immerse themselves in the experience and stay in local accommodation.
Business manager Natascha Wernick said the 2018 art trail was a golden opportunity for sponsors.
“This year we had sponsors in cash and kind that made the event what it was. 2018’s trail really is about moving on and we invite sponsors to talk to us about how we can showcase their businesses along with artists and events.”
Sponsorship manager Suzi Bourke said that the principal function of MAT18 will be to increase visitor numbers to the area while giving the community an opportunity to celebrate in style. “And we offer exceptional exposure and chance to be associated with a landmark cultural event.”
Organisers will be contacting local businesses in the coming weeks and invite the business community to make the most of the opportunity.
