ONE OF Murwillumbah’s most popular cafes, Wild Thyme Dining, has reopened after the coronavirus shutdown and has completed some amazing new renovations.

“Whilst closed for nine weeks this was a fantastic opportunity to complete our dreams,” said owners Todd Cochrane and Siobhan Quaine.

“We’re totally passionate about providing our town with the best food and venue we possibly can and this gave us the chance to go for it.

“As a local young family, we know how important it is for people to have a venue where fine food is served at reasonable prices and in an ambience to enjoy.

“Our new all-weather awning provides the ideal situation for just that.”

Mr Cochrane trained as a chef with Palazo Versace, a five-star resort on the Gold Coast and has a been a professional chef all over Australia and Asia including Barrier Reef Resorts.

“Fortunately, we’ve been blessed to have such fantastic staff during the COVID-19 lockdown,” Ms Quaine said.

The couple said they owed a big “thank you” to their landlords, the Commonwealth Bank, Tweed Shire Council and Todd’s dad Mark for their support and assistance.

The business also contracted CR Steel and Staff Building to undertake the works with advice from Tweed Shire Council to complete the awning in structural steel.

“Unfortunately, social distancing will limit the number of seated customers, but we are doing takeaway and on Saturday nights special street food. Come and enjoy,” Mr Cochrane said.
