MURWILLUMBAH LAW firm Australian Law Group (ALG) / Egan Simpson is expanding its business base and have announced the purchase of Heydons Lawyers in Byron Bay, as the company continues to strengthen its legal services and presence in the Northern Rivers.

Owner and senior lawyer, Alison Peters, said the company has been welcomed into the Tweed Valley and continues to build on its client base.

“It’s been a great start in Murwillumbah, and I’d like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Jeff Egan for his wonderful support and assistance with the ALG/Egan Simpson merger last year,” she said.

“We’ve been going from strength to strength and have finally found some time to continue our growth.”

The Australian Law Group / Egan Simpson merger took place in February 2018 as the firm wanted to establish a home base in the Tweed Shire.

“Now with further time to grow the business, we wanted more presence in Northern NSW and we’re excited to announce the purchase of Heydons Lawyers in Byron,” she said.

“This now brings Australian Law Group with offices in Murwillumbah, Byron NSW, Toowong, Morningside and Wynnum Qld.” Mrs Peters said Heydons Lawyers are a well-established firm and have been around for a long time. “With some of the Heydons solicitors and staff located in the Tweed Shire, we are pleased to continue to employ locals,” she said.

“Both the Murwillumbah office and Byron office will work together to assist clients from the Qld border to beyond Byron and inland.”

Mrs Peters said the purchase will allow the company to develop the scope of areas they practice in with some very experienced lawyers in family law, property and commercial law, wills and estates and litigation.

“The large scope of area allows us to better service our clients in more areas of law,” she said.

“We are really looking forward to the future and providing the Tweed with great legal service.”
