HALLS TYRE Service were forced to cancel this yearβs Show βnβ Shine event due to the coronavirus, but that has not stopped the business from hosting their annual raffle to raise vital funds for Wedgetail Retreat.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to pop into Halls at 1 Mayfield Street in South Murwillumbah to purchase a ticket(s) with your chance to win a great range of prizes.
βIt is a shame we couldnβt host the Show βnβ Shine this year,β business owners Sue and Laurie Hall told The Weekly.
βBut instead weβre promoting the raffle and need as many tickets sold as possible, so please buy a ticket and show your support.β
Sue said the business had sold around 550 tickets so far and they were aiming for around 1,000 with the major draw set to take place on Wednesday, March 31.
βWe really want to continue our support for Wedgetail Retreat so we’re holding our annual raffle instore,β she said.
βLast year we raised $7,000, but this year we’re also donating $20 for every four tyres and wheel alignment in one transaction, that’s to help boost the annual donation.β
Sue said the team were hoping for around $5,000. Tickets are also being sold at the Tweed Palliative Care Secondhand Store and at the weekly sausage sizzle next to Mitre 10 hosted by Rotary Club of Murwillumbah.
βEvery ticket helps and thereβs some great prizes on offer, so come down and take a look,β she said.
