BANORA POINT

Club Banora Garden Club meet at 9.45am on the first Tuesday of every month in the Tuscany Room at Club Banora, Leisure Drive, Banora Point. Each meeting features a guest speaker garden displays, ‘’Lucky Door’’ prize raffles, morning tea and lots of social activities. The Anglican Parish of Kingscliff are holding a ‘Family BBQ and Bush Dance’ at the Pottsville Community Hall on Friday 30 September at 6.00pm.

Cotton Undies Drive between now and International ‘Day of the Girl’ Days for Girls Community Day,  8th October 2016 at the Jessie McMillan Hall, Wollumbin Street, Murwillumbah. Starts at 9.00am – Everyone is welcome. We desperately need cotton undies for our Days for Girls kits. This means we need more than a thousand pairs of knickers every year. Our greatest need is is sizes 8-14 for the younger girls who are at school and in need of our DFG kits to help keep them at school and gaining an education. Murwillumbah on the Move walking group for the Heart Foundation meets at Knox Park at 6.55am each Wednesday and Saturday for an hour long walk around the town area. The Murwillumbah Cancer Support Group meets from 10am to12 midday on the second Monday of every month at the Community Health Centre on the corner of Nullum and Wollumbin streets. These informal meetings offer mutual, practical and emotional support. The speaker at our 10th October meeting will be a local exercise physiologist. The Tweed Hospital Auxiliary will be holding its Annual Fete at the Tweed Heads Civic Centre on Friday 14 October from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm and Saturday 15 October from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm. U3A Twin Towns have reintroduced ‘Gently Does It’ stretch classes on Friday, 4 Boyd Street, Tugun at 9 AM. ‘Gently Does It’ is for all ages, particularly seniors who feel ready to welcome another challenge.  As the name suggests, ‘Gently Does It’ routines are easy to do and are easy on the body while stimulating your brain and memory functions.
