MOUNT WARNING Tours continues to establish itself as a leading tourism operator across the Northern Rivers with the recent arrival of the company’s latest tour boat, Dream Catcher, that’s set to take the Tweed River by storm.
Valued at $350,000, Dream Catcher sailed into the Tweed past Duranbah from Burleigh Heads on Saturday, January 11, bringing with it a new way to discover, celebrate and experience the Tweed.
Mount Warning Tours owner Michael Simmons said the success of Spirit of Wollumbin and desire for more corporate events and private charters on the river was a driver behind the purchase.
“This is a huge step up for Mount Warning Tours,” he said.
“The fleet continues to grow and we’re investing in the future of the Tweed Shire’s tourism offering on land and water.”
Dream Catcher is among the biggest and most specialised events vessel cruising the Tweed River with a luxurious and spacious internal fit out. Nothing has been compromised in its making, from finding the Best source for copper nails to the premium safety features, each element has been given distinct attention.
“Dream Catcher is designed to be our new premium tour cruise for corporate events, parties, weddings, functions, tour groups, bucks’ and hens’ parties and so much more,” Mr Simmons said.
Mount Warning Tours Marketing & Communication Manager, Petra Wagemaker, said Dream Catcher was already receiving a range of local interest and bookings.
“We are delighted to be able to offer Tweed Shire locals and visitors the experience of a lifetime on the Tweed River,” she said.
“The new Dream Catcher is equipped to offer guests space and comfort, while still being able to take in the beauty of the Tweed River and surrounds.”
Mr Simmons said he was planning on completing the ship’s fit out with a new paint job, new internal fittings and some signage.
“We’re using a wrap on the exterior to get a great result,” he said.
Mount Warning Tours Business Development Manager, Jane Henry, said they’re already booked across several of the upcoming weekends and “we’ve only just arrived on the Tweed”.
