PASSIONATE MURWILLUMBAH locals Vanessa and Michael Hampton are the proud new owners of Print Spot at South Murwillumbah, where the team are keen to make your printing dreams a reality.
The well-known local couple have lived and worked in the area for 17 years and Print Spot has been in the family for 13.
βThe Print Spot and Tweed Valley Weekly started operating in 1990 and was bought by Kym Marston and my mother Cherry Jackson-Saw, in 2006,β Vanessa said.
βAfter a couple of years, they separated the paper from Print Spot, Cherry and I moved into the CBD with the paper while Mike continued working for Print Spot with Kym.
βNow Michael and I have taken ownership and we have a fantastic team of five local families working at Print Spot and each one is extremely proud of the services that we provide.
βMichael has over 20 yearsβ experience as a graphic designer and over 13 yearsβ experience in printing to sign writing.
βI have over 20 yearsβ experience in management and had worked at the Tweed Valley Weekly for 11 years, leaving in 2017.β
Over time the Print Spot has developed a huge number of ongoing relationships with clients around the Tweed Valley and Tweed Coast – from Coolangatta to Byron.
Vanessa said previous owner Kym Marston is moving in a new career direction.
βKym is looking forward to a different career path probably involving his accreditations for bus or truck driving,β she said.
βHe is still currently president of SKALL Southern Gold Coast Chapter for Tourism and Travel.
βWe wish him all the best in his new life and want to thank him for giving us this opportunity.
βYou may still see his face at Print Spot from time to time.β
Vanessa said the website is currently being revamped so Print Spot can be contacted through Facebook or by phoning the office.
βWe do free quotes, but we are happy for people to send in other quotes and we will do our best to match prices,β she said.
βWe are a local family business and weβd love to help other local businesses to be successful.β
Vanessa said that she and Michael were excited about the future of Print Spot.
βWe have lots of exciting ideas for the business to freshen it up, with new signage and other things,β she said.
Michael and I are really creative people, so we love coming up with new designs for people.
βI get really excited about the business part of it for people; inspiring them and being creative and helping them with their vision for their business with things like branding.
βMichael is really passionate about graphic design and sign writing.
βI have a great relationship with a lot of people in town from my time at The Weekly and I love seeing people face to face and talking to them.
βWe are really excited about this new chapter in our lives and providing a really great service to the local community.β
