Serial thief nabbed and charged with 45 offences by Tweed Police

TWEED POLICE have nabbed a 41-year-old believed to a be a serial thief and have charged him with 45 offences relating to break and enters, stolen vehicles and stealing across the Far North Coast as well as outstanding warrants in Queensland.

Police said in a media statement that they received a report of a stolen Kia Carnival on Monday, October 9, in the Kingscliff area.

After locating the vehicle in Kingscliff Lane, police said the man got out of the vehicle and ran, but was arrested a short time later.

A 36-year-old woman was also arrested inside the stolen vehicle.

“During a search of the car police allegedly located a throwing knife, house breaking implements, numerous car keys believed to be stolen, stolen identification documents and drug paraphernalia,” police said.

The man and woman were taken to Tweed Heads Police Station. The man was charged with 45 offences that related to break and enter and property offences which occurred between June 2017 and 9 October 2017.

He was also found to have three outstanding warrants in Queensland.

“He has been bail refused to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 10 October 2017),” police said.

“The woman was charged with being carried in conveyance driven without consent of the owner. Her court date has not yet been set.
