POLICE INVESTIGATING the fatal shooting of Ace Hall, 31, at Tweed Heads on Saturday, June 24 are appealing for information after a car was located at Tweed Heads today (Monday, June 26).
Mr Hall was found outside The Tweed Hospital around 4.30pm on Saturday, June 24 with a gunshot wound to the stomach and died shortly after.
A 2017 white Holden Commodore station wagon was found by police at Steep Street, Tweed Heads today and are appealing for any information on the vehicle.
This follows after police carried out a search warrant at the scene of the shooting, at Machinery Drive, Tweed Heads yesterday (Sunday, June 25).
Detectives from Tweed Heads Local Area Command, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Varndell to investigate Mr Hall’s death.
Superintendent Starling addressed the media on Sunday, June 25 and said there was “no suggestion” that the shooting was related to bikie or criminal gang networks, despite several questions from reporters attempting to connect the shooting with known gangs and drug related activity.
“There is no suggestions in this instance of bikie or gang activity,” he said.
“We are continuing investigations and ask that any members of the public who may have witnessed the shooting to come forward, they can remain anonymous.”
