DEVELOPER CLARENCE Property has announced a sponsorship for Casuarina Rugby Club to the tune of $10,000.
Clarence Property is currently in the final stages of planning for its new $70 million master-planned Casuarina Beach community.
The sponsorship will fund new facilities and enable the club to build a western side fence and install its first scoreboard.
Casuarina Rugby coach Adam Leach says the donation has come at the right time for the club to attract recruits for its new women’s teams and growing senior rugby side.
“There is a lot of excitement surrounding Rugby at the moment, following the women’s Olympic Rugby team taking home a gold medal, and the start of three new women’s teams on the Gold Coast earlier this year, and the creation of our first Senior Men’s team”, Mr Leach said.
“The sport is evolving and changing, and this donation will help us grow and provide the best possible training and competition environment for our players. We want them to feel like they can start here and go anywhere in the world of senior Rugby, if they stay committed to their training.”
Clarence Property Managing Director Peter Fahey says the sponsorship of the Rugby Club is part of Clarence’s ongoing commitment to the Casuarina community.
“We have previously helped the Casuarina Hockey Club to complete their clubhouse and we have had a four year relationship with the Salt Surf Life Saving Club. Grassroots sports run by local volunteers are an important part of every community and its something we will continue to support wherever we can,” Mr Fahey said.
“We are also currently working with the State Government and Tweed Shire Council to finalise the release of the final stages of Casuarina Beach.”
