THE MURWILLUMBAH Mustangs found solid form during a tough match against Lower Clarence Magpies on Sunday, April 30, downing the visitors 54 to 18 at Stan Sercombe Oval.

Lower Clarence started the match strong with several break-away runs by their wingers, but they were no match for the mighty Mustangs who quickly answered back and eventually dominated the match.

A strong field of supporters for Lower Clarence were in the grandstand cheering their side on, with a slightly larger crowd backing Murwillumbah.

The Magpies also had a narrow loss against Casino recently suffering a 34-32 loss.

Magpies Captain and Coach Dan Randall told the Daily Examiner that his side had hit a minor speed bump this week though with two players ruled out of the trip to Murwillumbah.

The Mustangs are now placed equal third on the ladder with Ballina and the Tweed Coast Raiders sharing first place.

A grand final replay will take place this Sunday, May 7 when the Mustangs take on Cudgen at the Ned Byrne Oval at 2.45pm.
