Police release CCTV image of Murwillumbah thief

IT MAY be a little difficult to identify but Tweed Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may have been involved in a Murwillumbah robbery on Wednesday, February 8.

In a statement to the media, Police said it was about 11am when a man and a woman entered a clothing store on Murwillumbah Street, Murwillumbah.

Police have been told the man stole money from the till and left the store with the woman.

They were seen leaving in a Gold Pulsar.

Officers from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

As part of their inquiries, police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to speak to.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of solid build, with dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a maroon shirt and thongs.

Police would also like to speak to a woman who may be able to assist them. She is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, with dark brown hair, and was last seen wearing a black and white floral dress.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
