THE TWEED has paid tribute to 22-year-old Dann Jenkins who tragically died in a motorbike accident on Monday, October 24 at Numinbah.
At 10.15am his motorbike collided with a Toyota Hilux utility at the intersection of Numinbah Road and Couchy Creek Road, Numinbah, approximately 6km from the NSW-Queensland border. Sadly Dann died at the scene.
Dann worked at Coles at Tweed Mall and loved nothing more than riding his 750 GSXR Suzuki.
Mr Jenkins’ partner of three years, Petrone White, 22, posted a touching tribute on social media.
“For 3 years we have spent every minute that we could together. You are and will always be my everything. I can’t believe I won’t wake up to anymore sweet messages, fall asleep in your arms, train hard at gym together or take random night drives together. I can’t imagine life without you and now I have to. You will always be in my heart and soul. R.I.P my bb. I love you always,” she said.
She also posted images of tributes at the scene of the accident.
“Went out to the site where it happened today. A huge thankyou to all of his bike riding friends that came to show their support. It is still so surreal. I will always love you Dann.”
The driver of the Hilux, an 87-year-old man was not injured. He was taken to Murwillumbah Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
