AFTER 27 weeks the Tweed Valley Weekly Footy Tipping Winner has been announced scoring $1000 cash for first place and a second place prize of $500.

It was a close fought battle between the top five thisyear including Pacific Patios, Grant & Brady CPA, Professionals Coolangatta, Print Spot and Wonderwash.

But it was Grant & Brady CPA owner Stuart Brady who emerged victorious after coming from behind to secure the $1000 cash prize.

Mr Brady said the prize came as a complete surprise.

“I had no idea about the cash prize – but I think it’s great and I’d just like to thank The Weekly for the win,” he said.

“I think I might use the money to take the family on a holiday soon, possibly to the Whitsundays.”

Second place went to Steve Moore owner of Pacific Patios who narrowly missed out on the top prize but scored $500 cash for his efforts.

“I was happy to just place on the top of the ladder in The Weekly footy tipping this year, but to get some cash and come second I’m really pleased,” he said.

“I’d like to thank The Weekly for the prize, which I will use to take the family out to the new Garden Restaurant that’s opened recently at Jupiters Casino.”

The Weekly staff would also like to thank all the businesses that took part in the 2016 Weekly Footy Tipping Comp (see table right), you can expect a special gift in the mail.
