BURRINGBAR

Burringbar Australia Day Committee had two Senior Citizens of the Year, Nina Bathie for her unrelenting work to raise funds and support the local sporting organisation, school, pre-school and her community commitment, the second is to Rosemary Toovey for her work, fundraising and management of the Burringbar School of Arts Hall, involvement in the Christmas Carols and organising The Burringbar & District Biggest Morning Tea. Our Junior Citizen of the Year is Kaleb Booth, for his willingness, initiative and leadership in the school community. Burringbar would like to express their appreciation for the financial support given by Tweed Shire Council and the sponsorship provided by Tweed Pet Kingdom

CABARITA

The Cabarita Pony Club is having their AGM on Saturday the 11th of February 2017, at 12noon, at the pony club grounds, all are welcome to attend.

KINGSCLIFF

U3A Tweed Coast: The first Forum of the year, Fri 3rd Feb.at the Uniting Church Hall 24 Kingscliff St, Kingscliff at 2pm is sure to be enthralling as we meet Hebe de Souza author ofย  โ€œBlack Britishโ€ย  a sharply funny yet poignant story of a courageous girl growing up in 1960s in India in the early days ofย  independence.ย  As usual First Friday Forums are open to all and just a $2 donation for delicious afternoon tea.ย  Enquiries to Pam 0420 473274.

MURWILLUMBAH

Friends of the Tweed Regional Museum are holding a fundraising trip to Tamborine Mountain on Sunday, March 5. It includes morning tea, options of visiting the Heritage Centre or Gallery Walk then lunch and wine tasting at Cedar Creek Estate and the possibility (time permitting) of another wine tasting at Heritage Wines. The Murwillumbah Probus Club monthly meeting will be held at the Mountain View community centre on Monday 20th February, commencing at 10am. All members and visitors are welcome.

The Murwillumbah Cancer Support Group The Murwillumbah Cancer Support Group meets from 10am to 12 midday on the second Monday of every month at the Community Health Centre on the corner of Nullum and Wollumbin streets. Tweed Valley Spanish Language Conversation Group. TWEED HEADS

Twin Towns & District Garden Club, ย meets monthly, all welcome.The next meeting will be – Monday 13th February 2017. Guest Speaker will be the interesting Nev Ludwig, a Professional Orchid Grower. The meeting will be held at South Tweed Sports Club,4 Minjungbal Drive (Old Pacific Hwy), Tweed Heads South. Doors will open at 8.30 am with an entry fee of $3, which includes Morning Tea around 9.00 am, all the usual benching, raffles, lucky door prize, library trading and cuttings tables available with the Meeting commencing at 9.30 am.

Caldera Country Music Club will be held on February 12th at South Tweed Sports Club. Quota International of Tweed Heads/Coolangatta Inc. will start the new year with their first meeting on Monday 6th February at the South Tweed Sports Club in Minjungbal Dr at Tweed Heads South at 6.15pm DST. Members have enjoyed a break over the Christmas period but are now looking forward to a busy year fundraising and supporting the many needy charities in the Twin Towns area. U3A Twin Towns offers many exciting courses including Random Readers, where the members choose what to read. This group meets the second and fourth week of the month to discuss what they have read. and hear what others have selected to read.
